Round 14 President's Report:
Finals footy starts next Sunday 26 July 2009 and we wish the players, coaches and officials of both the Under 13’s and Under 15’s all the best in their finals campaign. Let’s support these teams by a strong FTG Eagles JFC attendance at the games. Our last Player Awards night last night (Sunday 19 July) for season 2009 was extremely well attended. It was a good family night and trust that all members and families enjoyed the evening. As mentioned by Gary last night, all proceeds from our dinner last night will be added to the collection by the FTG Eagles JFC for the Anti-Cancer Foundation. I would also like to thank Todd Graham (Diamond Blue Catering) a parent and member of our club for catering for the last two Sunday night Player Awards nights. A great effort - and great food! Well done Todd and THANKS.
Nominations for Best Club Person and Life Member are now open - all nominations to our Secretary Sharon Nied by Sunday 2 August 2009.
Today was the last game played by our Under 16’s at Junior level. A wonderful effort by this group of boys who have developed yet again both individually and collectively as a team over the coarse of the year; and they have also shown that they can be very competitive in ‘A’ Grade. We wish the boys well into their next stage of life and football and wish to remind each and every one of them that they will always be welcome at the Ferntree Gully Eagles Junior Football Club.
In closing, the Ferntree Gully Eagles Junior Football Club extends their condolences to John Turner and his family on the passing of his father - Jack Turner.
