I wish to take this opportunity to thank Councillor Sue McMillan for sponsoring this moving event; Martin Barlow for his initiative in suggesting the activities in the first instance; Greg Lawson and Chris Shannon for arranging the very impressive ANZAC Day medals; to all Coaches and Team Managers for embracing the concept; the General Committee for their advice; and my Executive for their ongoing help, support and tireless efforts - Gary Bass, Sharon Nied and John Evans.

The RAAF formation jets fly over took place during the Under 11’s and Under 12’s ANZAC Day presentation - which added a ‘special’ touch! Sunday Night Player Awards Night was also a special event with the ANZAC Day medal awarded to a player in each team as selected by the Coach and team officials.

Thanks to the Under 14’s who hosted dinner - great job to this team - the roast beef rolls and chips were delicious!

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning;
